Empower Kearney: Leadership Academy “Leadership for Impact” The Empower Kearney: Leadership Academy is a dynamic nine-month experience designed to cultivate and empower both established and emerging leaders. Through this program, participants will strengthen their leadership skills, expand their networks, and gain the knowledge needed to make a lasting impact. By bringing together a diverse group of individuals, we aim to develop resourceful, engaged, and forward-thinking leaders who will help shape the future of our community. The academy will begin in September and will finish up in May. Participants must complete all nine sessions in order to earn their certificate. Overview: The leadership development academy will meet on the second Friday of each month from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Each monthly session will include a focus topic, a community topic, and networking/growth opportunities Registration: $699 for Chamber Members. $799 for Non Members. Early Bird Incentive--Register by Memorial Day Leadership Resource Bundle A curated bundle of leadership books, journals, or workbooks used in the academy “Founding Class” Recognition Special acknowledgment as a founding member of the inaugural cohort (e.g., certificate, website listing, pin) Organizations sending multiple team members: First participant at the full rate 5% discount for each additional participant We are happy to provide extended or creative invoicing options, or offer an additional 5% discount if payment is received in full by cash or check by September 1st. Syllabus: Meeting Dates Goals September Gain an understanding of self awareness, teambuilding, goal setting, and project leading. October Reflect and continue to build on one’s purpose and team building strategies. Identify personal strengths through Clifton’s Strengths assessment. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Kearney Chamber of Commerce, its role in tourism, and the downtown area's key attractions and opportunities. November Master conflict management, crucial conversations, effective communication, and healthy boundary-setting. Connect with local first responders. December Explore how to leverage personal strengths for effective leadership. Gain insight into local education institutions and workforce development opportunities. January Strengthen personal development, refine management techniques, and cultivate a growth mindset while exploring the community impact of healthcare. February Create a personalized roadmap for success, deepen understanding of ethics and motivation, and gain real-world insights through tours of local businesses. March Explore the principles of trust, integrity, and transparency while engaging with local leaders to gain valuable insights of local elected leaders. April Explore the impact of mental health—both positive and negative—on personal well-being and leadership effectiveness. May Create a personalized leadership plan for ongoing leadership growth and development. Celebrate the journey from the past nine months with a graduation ceremony.
