Red, White & Business Ready: March Week 1
March Week 1: Midwest Welcome, Made Efficient

Title: World Stage, Local Advantage — March Week 1: Midwest Welcome, Made Efficient
As summer 2026 approaches, one of the smartest (and most affordable) ways to prepare isn’t a renovation or a big marketing spend — it’s creating a customer experience that feels friendly, clear, and easy.
Whether someone is visiting from out of town or they’re a local hosting guests, the expectation is the same: help me quickly understand what to do, where to go, and what to choose. This week is all about “Midwest welcome” — but with a little extra efficiency.
This week’s goal
Reduce confusion. Increase confidence.
A) The “First 60 Seconds” test (do this today)
Walk into your business like you’ve never been there before.
Ask yourself:
- Do I know where to go and what to do next?
- Do I know how ordering/check-in works?
- Do I know your best option if I’m in a hurry?
- Do I know where the restroom is without asking?
If the answer is “not really,” you’ve just found your easiest improvement.
B) 5 small upgrades that make a BIG difference
- Clear signage (with icons if possible)
Restrooms • Order Here • Pick Up • Please Wait • Entrance/Exit - A “best sellers” or “most common services” shortcut
Help people decide fast. - One “first-timer” script for staff
“Welcome! Here’s how it works…” (10 seconds) - Make your info ‘visitor-proof’
Hours, parking tips, and “what to expect” should be easy to find online. - Lean into authentic local
Visitors love real places. You don’t need to be fancy — you need to be clear, kind, and consistent.
C) A quick cultural readiness mindset (no overthinking required)
You may hear more languages, see unfamiliar payment preferences, and get lots of “where should we go?” questions. The best response is simple:
- Speak a little slower
- Use gestures and pointing when needed
- Keep answers short and friendly
- Have a translation app ready if you get stuck
This week’s one action (do it today)
Create a “Welcome Script” and a “Quick Help” sign.
Example welcome script:
“Hi! Welcome in. If it’s your first time, ordering is right here, and we’ll bring it to you. Restrooms are to the left.”
