The Clay County Economic Development Council and Mid-Continent Public Library will host a Small Business Bootcamp on September 15 at 8:30 a.m. at the Woodneath Library Center [8900 Flintlock Road, Kansas City, MO] focused on helping local entrepreneurs start and grow their own business.
“Part of the magic of a small business bootcamp is how speakers can do more than just inform attendees; speakers can inspire those in attendance to make their small business a force for change in our community.” – Square One Small Business Service
Stella Crewse is the CEO of Morgan Miller Plumbing and the keynote speaker for this event.
“It’s easy to lose sight of your core product. You have to focus on what’s making you money and not only what your customers dictate. Through strategic planning, we have taken what we do, along with who we are in our company culture, to create our brand on social media that competes with bigger companies in town.” – Stella Crewse CEO of Morgan Miller Plumbing
After starting a family with her husband, Stella was looking to get back into the work force. What started out as a part-time accounting job has evolved into her position as CEO of Morgan Miller Plumbing. In her 14 years there, Stella has helped the company weather the recession, played a key role in evaluating who their target customers are, and spearheaded the creation of a strategic plan for the company. Her journey from part-time bookkeeper to running a plumbing company is just one part of this inspiring story. She has also helped cultivate Morgan Miller Plumbing into a brand that competes with larger area plumbing companies by leveraging their social media to reflect their company culture and strengthen their brand.
This program is funded by a grant from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
